How to Make a Complaint

We aim to maintain high standards in all that we do but recognise that we can sometimes get things wrong, despite our best intentions. We view a complaint as an opportunity, as well as a chance, to put things right for the person making the complaint, and to improve the service that we offer. Therefore, we value and take seriously any feedback we receive.

We hope that the majority of complaints can be dealt with informally by speaking to the member of staff who is working with you or by speaking to their manager, but in cases in which the formal procedure is more appropriate, you can contact us by telephone, email, or letter:

  1. By phone on 01582 760735, asking to speak to our Foundation Manager.
  2. By letter to Foundation Manager or Chair of Trustees, Unit 6, 17 Leyton Road, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, AL5 2HY
  3. By email to office@jamesmarshallfoundation.co.uk

Please tell us what went wrong, when it happened, and what outcome you are hoping for. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 5 working days (but it may take up to 10 working days if the office is closed due to staff holidays). Our acknowledgement will inform you of when we will next contact you with a proposed resolution or update, and will include the name of the person dealing with your complaint. You should receive a definitive reply within four weeks. If this is not possible (because, for example, the investigation has not been fully completed) a progress report will be sent with an indication of when a full reply will be given.

For full details about how we handle complaints, including how you can escalate your concern if needed, please ask for a copy of our Complaints Policy.
